According to studies conducted in the past couple of decades, 1 in 4 Americans who began using substances before age 18 experience addiction, compared to 1 in 25 who began at age 21 or older. Substance use disorder (SUD) affects us all – and this unfortunately includes adolescents under the age of 18. While Kyros does not currently offer services to adolescents, we are deeply invested in uplifting the whole recovery community. This means that while we can’t offer services directly, we can equip the community with resources to better support the children and families that are suffering due to SUD. It’s absolutely necessary that we equip the families and loved ones of children suffering from SUD with navigable, effective resources that can support their entire family unit. In this post, we’re going to provide Minnesota-based recovery resources for adolescents suffering from SUD, as well as resources that support their family.
