Who Are Addiction Professionals?

The American addiction professional workforce is estimated at more than 100,000 individuals that include counselors, educators, and other addiction-focused health care professionals who specialize in addiction prevention, intervention, treatment, recovery support, and education.

From recovery specialists, Certified Peer Recovery Specialists (CPRSs), and counselors to social workers, recovery coaches, and therapists, each plays an indispensable role in the road to recovery. Their relentless support, expert guidance, and wealth of resources truly change lives, one individual at a time. Kyros works to bolster the CPRS network in Minnesota, by partnering with organizations like Refocus Recovery to offer free training to those in recovery, and offering opportunities to hundreds of Peer Professionals.

Kyros is Reshaping Recovery - Starting With Providing Opportunities to Peer Professionals

Historically, Certified Peer Recovery Specialists – trained and certified paraprofessionals with a lived experience of addiction and provide support to individuals in early recovery –  have been cornered into limited employment avenues within treatment centers, marked by modest pay and overwhelming caseloads. Such conditions have unfortunately paved the way for frequent workforce shortages and increased burnout rates, leaving many in need without access to vital services.

At Kyros, we are embarking on a transformative journey. We are revolutionizing the field of Peer Recovery Services, with a vision to elevate and empower addiction professionals like you. Our goal is to build a resilient, thriving, and skilled workforce, ready to meet the increasing demand for support. Here’s a glimpse of our dedication:

  • Starting wages for CPRSs that are 20-30% higher than the industry standard, disbursed weekly.
  • Clear avenues for wage enhancements and career progression.
  • Continuous mentorship and access to resources ensuring CPRSs  remain supported in their personal recovery journeys.
  • A manageable caseload of 10-15 clients, in stark contrast to the industry norm of 50-75.
  • An industry leading quality and compliance framework to ensure the safety of CPRSs and their clients

While we are just beginning this journey to transform the industry, the results speak for themselves. 75% of Kyros CPRSs responded that they could not have afforded to pay for their training and over 90% of Kyros CPRSs affirm that their association with Kyros has been a boon to their personal recovery path. Not only is this approach providing new employment opportunities to individuals with a heart to serve, it is also supporting their own recoveries.

At Kyros, we intimately understand the complexities of Substance Use Disorder and the comprehensive approach required for effective recovery. We hold a deep appreciation for the tireless work, unwavering commitment, and genuine passion exhibited by addiction professionals, including our own dedicated peer recovery specialists. On this occasion, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for their remarkable efforts and honor their unwavering resilience in the ongoing battle against addiction.
